The People That Say “It’s Not About Winning” Are The Ones Who Never Win Anything… Like Me

It seems, in my frequently interrupted bloghopping, I missed a really cool giveaway- Kirsty at My Life For the World To See was giving away the book “Are You There, Vodka? It’s Me, Chelsea” (which I would have shamelessly exchanged for the book “He’s Just Not That Into You” because quite frankly, I know where my vodka is, and that’s all that matters… I would, however, like to know why Mark turned down the chance to see me nekkid to watch a rerun of “The Deadliest Catch”) and a gift certificate to Starbucks.

I could have used that latte.

So you can imagine the happiness I felt when finding out Kirsty was having another giveaway. The rules are simple…

1. Leave a comment (make sure you leave a link to your blog so I can contact you if you win).

2. Write a post about the contest with a wee linky back to the contest.

The beauty of this contest is the fact that it’s so easy. And everyone knows I’m all about easy.;)

The prize you ask? It’s a $35 gift certificate to Amazon.com. Now, how cool is that? Unfortunately they don’t sell sanity on Amazon.com (I already checked), but if I win I could buy the kids another Wii game because according to them, “There’s nothing to do around here”. I could buy the new Jakob Dylan cd and still have enough money left over to buy a box of Breathe Right strips for Mark, which would be way cheaper than a lawyer. I could buy Ryerson his very own pair of high heels, and then maybe then he’d stop wearing mine. The possibilities are endless… I could even buy porn.

You can pick your jaw up off the floor, Mom… I’m just kidding. ;)

So anyway, I’ve done what I needed to do to enter the contest… I’ve left a comment and written a post about it (is this what you had in mind, Kirsty?). I’ve Twittered Kirsty and let her know that there’s a pony in it for Meggers (I’m highly competitive) if she draws my name out of the hat.

My job here is done.

  1. woman you are too insane and I am loving it!!!

Heck, my hubby would bypass seeing me “nekkid” to watch Ghost Hunters – well he got his pay back for that one!

Now that I am preggers with Placenta Previa – he can’t touch me! How’s 9 months of torture for ignoring me while Ghost hunters is on! Hah! He can’t stand the re-runs! LOL

  2. This comment is to inform you, you’ve been officially disqualified from the contest due to bribary. Any ponies that show up better have Fisher Price or Mattel stamped to their butt. Just kiddin’ about the whole disqualified thing, but I had ya going for a minute didn’t I.

    xxoo
    Kirst

  3. would help if I could spell bribery..lol

  4. You know what? There’s no way I can ever ever top this one. This has got to be the funniest post in the history of blogdom.

    Hope you win!

  5. You would resort to bribery to win a contest!?!? I’m shocked! I’m stunned! I’m….jealous I didn’t think of it myself. Go, girl!

  7. DUde we’re gonna have some issues! Jakob Dylan is MINE as well. In fact I have dibs on many rock stars…back off! :)
    I’d also like Chelsea’s book, she’s insane.

  8. @Krystal At least you were competing with the Supernatural… Mark’s all about dead fish and live bait. lol

@Kirsty Honey, I suggest you get started on that stable!

@Wendy You haven’t read BHJ’s letter to Dooce, have you? That was sheer genius. I don’t care who wins, I don’t know enough about either of them to have an opinion, but I do know it’ll be fun to watch. *wink*wink*

@Sprite’s Keeper I’ve paid my children to behave… I’m not above using bribery to get my way for anything. lol

@RhoRho Thou shalt not covet your fellow bloggers rock star… I called him first.;)

  9. Good luck girl! With a post like that you have to win! Oh, and you could spread some of the $35 love around, couldn’t ya?

  10. Oh, this is such a funny post.:) Thanks for the laugh.:)

  11. @ipost I’ll burn you a copy of my Jakob Dylan cd… or did you want the Breathe Right strips?

    @Susan You’re more than welcome!

  12. Hey girlie.. just wanted to swing by and say thank you for the honeymoon book recommendations. Although I had already read the Flower trilogy by Nora Roberts (don’t you just love her trilogies??), I picked up Summerhouse at the library before leaving. Loved it so much! One of my fave romance books of all time is Knight in Shining Armor by Jude Deveraux, but I hadn’t read any of her more recent works. Next up is Return to Summerhouse. Can’t wait! Thanks for the recommendation:)
